Nigerian singer and songwriter Tiwa Savage has revealed that she is currently building a new house.
Speaking in an interview with Korty, the award-winning singer disclosed that she had already purchased the property, but construction is still ongoing and the house will not be ready until next year. She added that she feels safe and important in her current residence because of its proximity to the President’s residence.
“I bought a house somewhere, but it’s not ready till next year. I feel safe and important in my current location because the president’s house is in front.”
Last year, Tiwa gave fans a glimpse of her dream penthouse, which was then under construction in Ikoyi, Lagos State. The singer shared videos from the site, expressing excitement about the project.
In 2023, the music star ended the year on a high note by rewarding herself with a luxury home in London, United Kingdom. She shared photos of the stunning property and its lavish interior, which features a fully equipped gym, elegantly furnished living spaces, and a private cinema room.
Celebrity blogger Tunde Ednut, a close associate of the singer, claimed that Tiwa spent about ₦1.7 billion on the magnificent property.
In 2024, Tiwa hinted at the possibility of stepping away from music. She revealed that she was working on what could be her final studio album, admitting that she was exhausted after years of dedicating herself to the industry.
The singer also sparked conversations when she confidently placed herself among Nigeria’s “Big 3” artists. Addressing the debate, Tiwa maintained that when it comes to pure talent and vocal ability, she considers herself the number one artist.
Over the years, Tiwa Savage has cemented her place as one of Africa’s most influential female artists. In 2023, she made history as one of the performers at the Coronation Concert held in celebration of King Charles III’s coronation at Windsor Castle, earning global acclaim and making Nigerians proud with her remarkable performance.
The award-winning singer also recently addressed claims that she does not support fellow female artists. In a brief Instagram rant, Tiwa dismissed the allegations, questioning which female artist has collaborated with more women in the industry than she has.
